Procedure to book visa slot......

In order to get a appointment (booking visa slot) with American Consulate for of all you need to pay Visa fee at selected branches of HDFC bank . After paying Visa fee you will get HDFC bank receipt which contains a barcode number. The barcode number will be activated after two working days of payment made.

Now go to VFS website, vfs-usa.co.in and click on the Apply for non immigrant visa and click on Continue

Now the below screen will appear. Now click on NO (most of us don' t have BEP use ID)

Now click on CREATE A NEW APPLICATION.

Click on I AGREE on the page that appear now.

Now give the suitable details for the asked questions by this page. Don't forget to select STUDYING IN THE USA/EXCHANGE VISITOR. Take care while entering the code given. It irritates you again and again if you enter it wrong. Now after completing all the details just click on CONTINUE.

There is a screen showing the present status of Availability of Dates in the green mark - press continue

Give the details of Passport Expiry Date and then presws continue.

You have to fill the details like First Name, Last Name, HDFC Bank Receipt No. etc. and then press continue.

 There is a screen showing the Visa Classes like F-1, B1/B2 etc. You have to click on the F-1 Visa.

There is a screen showing the guide lines for web appointment and then press continue.

You will lead to the DS-156 form. Please completely fill the DS-156 form and then press continue.

Also completely fill the DS-157, DS-158 & SEVIS Details and then press continue for confirmation.

Again There is a screen showing the present status of Availability of Dates in the green mark - press on the appropriate date.

Then it shows a screen, which you have taken the time and date of confirmed a appointment and then press continue.

You have to give the Passport delivery address (It will be your home address or any other alternative address) and then press continue .

There is a screen showing Download - Press on the Download.

Then the screen shows the DS-156, DS-157, DS-158, Interview Letter and Guide Lines - Press on the each link and then save a copy in to your computer.

Press Exit.

Please take the printouts of DS-156 (Back n Back), DS-157, DS-158 (Back n Back) and Interview Letter.
