    Hi,
    I am planning for MS in Technical Communication (popularly known as Technical Writing).
    GRE: 300 (V-150, Q-150, AWA-4)
    Toefl: 97
    Work Experience: 1 year 5 months
    I have no Papers published.
    Following are the universities I am looking for:
    1. Carnegie Mellon Uni (Professional Writing (MA))
    2. North Carolina State Uni (Master of Science in Technical Communication)
    3. Iowa State Uni (Rhetoric, Composition, and Professional Communication (MA))
    4. Texas Tech Uni (MA in Technical Communication)
    5. New Jersey Institute of Technology (Master of Science in Professional and Technical Communications)
    6. Illinois Institute of Technology (Master of Science in Technical Communication and Information Design (TCID))
    in that order.

    Hi could any one help me in shortlisting my universities.
    Profile:
    GRE: 293
    IELTS: 6
    Acada: 6.59 out of 10, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineer
    Journals: 2(1 national, 1 international - both on robotics)
    Conference: 2(1 national, 1 international)
    Academic projects: 3 (on robotics)
    Other projects: more than 20 (on robotics)
    Paper presented: 5
    Won many prizes and awards (on robotics)
    Working Experience: 1 and half year (on my core field)
    Intern: 2
    Having strong SOP and LOR
    I wanted to do my Masters in Electrical and Computer science having Robotics and control, vision system in the curriculum and want to my research in the field of Vision system in robotics.

    Sorry but your academic percentage is a bit low.To get into univs like you mentioned, you would need strong SOP and LORs and other things like paper published, or Any solid extra curricular activity certificate/Internship/Work Exp.Something that can compensate low acad.
    Do some more research, and i am sure there are other good universities which might be safe and good for your profile.

    TOEFL: R: 26 L:24 S: 24 W: 21 TOTAL:95
    work exp: 1.3 years in Thomson Reuters as a contractor
    LOR: 1 from TL and 2 from coll profs
    Applying for fall 2015 - Computer Science

    Can you please evaluate mine :

    GRE: 313 (V-152, Q-161) ; AWA awaited - expecting 3.5
    Toefl: Scores awaited, expecting ~95 (Speaking section messed up, rest are good)

    Graduation : 66% in Bachelor of Engineering, CS
    10th=75.2
    12th=64.6

    Work Experience: 3.5 years in 2 reputed companies of Telecom Domain (currently AT&T is a client)

    A major training in .NET from HCL, Noida (A part of college curriculum)
    No papers published
    5 backlogs - cleared
    Extra curricular includes : basic knowledge of French language(not sure if it counts), came in top 3 percentile in a national level aptitude test conducted by NIIT(not sure if it counts either), won some prizes in computer gaming(in CS - if that makes it relevant :P, kidding)

    Doctor interested in MS in computer science

    hi Dev,

    I am a doctor and did my MBBS in India. Currently residing in North Carolina, USA. I'm interested in doing MS in CS and planning to take GRE this week and expecting the score around 310. Can you suggest me some university which I can apply with non math background. I dont want to spend more money.

    Any help would be appreciated.
