one more thing . i did my research on Nanotech univ and came out with an astonishing result ..
SUNY is named 1st for nanotech but on the contrary its overall ranking is above 150 ..

now what should i do in this case ?
which all univ's professors should i mail and ask ?

Well, I'm in India. Awaiting my final sem results... :-)...did LOADS of hunting around during my search for MS, so thought I could share wat I know, on this forum.

Ur profile is good! If u can increase ur percentage its better :-) but ur current marks are fine too....since u have international publication, its good. Try to have more :-) beef it up as much as possible.

But with ur current profile itself, if u get 320 or above gre and 105 above toefl, u-d stand chances in some very good unis.

    All the best!

Ah! That's a classic scenario....see, unlike India, in US or rather north America, its not just overall ranking. Individual unis are good for individual subjects....MIT may be top overall, but not necessarily in analog vlsi (Oregon state scores there)...but, do more research....just one google search won't be comprehensive.

And by profs, I meant overall. Take any uni u like and email profs...try ncsu, cmu, ASU, Cornell, u Minn tc, ut Dallas, uic etc....try to keep a good mix of top as well as avg unis and email profs....DO NOT CC THEM. Send them individual emails, and patiently wait for response...if 3 or 4 days pass, send a gentle reminder. Nothing more
