    Question suggestion please

    hi,
    this is amogh .i will be completing my BE(Electronics and communication) by july 2012.Iam planing to get admitted for Fall 13.my engineering marks is around 58%
    As my BE percent is less can anyone please suggest me any additional things to be done apart from GRE ,so that i can
    get into good university..
    Iam planning to take my GRE this during july.Is it enough to have only good GRE score...

    no. just gre wont do. Ur B.E percentage is low. but ppl do get admits witrh this mark. Try hard and score more than 155 in each verbal as well as wuants. Score 95+ in toefl.

    Get excelleant LORs and use this one year gap for some good use. take courses or do internships. these all add value!

    Write a good sop too. and use every possible extra curricular....Also, try for MS in some less competitve field.

    Does projects play a vital role..and what about paper presentation ....
    Can u please mention me names of less competitive fields ..
    And by which month should we have our GRE score ready for applying for universities....

    Oh yes! Projects play a strong role. But depends on wat it is and where u've done it.

    Paper presentations, well again only if its done at some big level. And by less competitive I mean subjects like antenna engineering, photonics etc....these aren easy as such. But many ppl tend to prefer embedded or vlsi etc.

    And if you wanna apply for FALL then write ur gre by July or august at most, then apply by November to December....
