If i am not wrong, i think he is saying that he completed his engineering in 5 years and not in 4 years.

if thats the case then it will dfntly have a negative effect on your profile..
see ur GRE is very good and so is ur toefl..but ur acads are a bit low for the top universities and adding to that uve completed ur engg in 5 yrs..so wat i suggest you is write up a top-notch SOP explaining to them why u took one extra year to complete your engg(give good and genuine reasons for this) and get good LORs...
When are you planning to apply??? Spring 2013 or Fall 2013..??
I would suggest that u apply for fall 2013 and in the mean time prepare well for the GRE subjective test...try to do well here and it will strengthen ur profile further more...
But if you are reluctant abt joinin in spring 2013 then ive got a list of universities which you should consider :

    SUNY Stony Brook : mod
    SUNY at Buffalo : Tough
    Arizona State University : mod
North Carolina State University : Ambi (Due to one extra year)
    University of Missouri,Rolla : Safe
Texas A&M Uni College Station : Tough
University of Southern California : Safe(I guess)
Indiana University - Bloomington : Safe
    University of Cincinnati : Mod
University of Washington – Seattle : Ambitious( Give it a try..you may never knw)

But all in all if you seriously want to get into even better universities then do give GRE Subjective as it will make the universities understand that you have the knowledge and capability to complete the course. Sorry to disappoint you.

    Hope this helps

All the Best for your future
