The GRE Math section test your basic math skills. This math topics never goes beyond the junior level or early school level and advanced level as trigonometry not tested. Quantitative reasoning is the application of basic mathematical skills which includes Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, Data analysis that are relevant to students in their daily activities.
I do agree with your point that math topics are beyond the junior level and it is essential part of the preparation. Sometimes aspirants like me don't know how to prepare because of lack of knowledge. Thanks for your tips.
