Thread: Different Names on Marksheet and Passport

I am about to give GRE next month and intend to participate in Fall 2018 admissions. I have my query regarding different names on Passport and Marksheet.

Since GRE has passport verification, my name on passport is Madhira Krishna Kartik(Father's name is Suryaprakash) whereas my Transcript has the name Madhira Krishna Kartik Surya Prakash.

Is this going to hamper my admission process or will it be better to change my passport name first with my transcript name and then take the GRE?
The official GRE website states that they do consider name changes with relevant document, so should I give GRE anyway since passport name change may take a long time?

It's better to change the name on the passport first and then give GRE to avoid issues in the future.
