    Spring/Fall 2015 | GRE : 328 (163V, 165Q, 5.0 AWA) | TOEFL : Not Given Yet | U.G. 61%

    Hi,

I'm interested in MS in Computer Engineering/Computer Science Engineering. My major Field of Study in undergraduate has been Instrumentation & Control. Please evvaulaute my profile and suggest me some uinviersities I should apply to.

    My profile:

    1. GRE : 328 (V:163/Q:165/AWA 5.0)

    2. B.E. Instrumentation & Control with 61% (Topper ~ 83%)

    3. Internships
    a. DRDO, Ministry of Defense : Worked on Hybrid computation and supercomputing clusters.
    b. IIT Delhi : Worked on developing state of the art network monitoring and packet analysis solutions.
    c. Zomato (on-campus paid intern)

    4. Projects
    a. Research Project on Routing Networks
    b. Development of a rotor based UAV.
    c. Benchmarking of Supercomputing clusters from a cryptographic standpoint.
    d. Research project in Artificial Intelligence on Knowledge aquisition.
    e. Packet Classification and Monitoring

    5. Publications
    a. Research paper on A.I. submitted to National Journal (ICTACT).
    b. Pontentially writing a second research paper, expected to be published at an ACM/IEEE conference.

    6. Extra Curricular:
    a) Ardent Debater and MUNer. Represented India at Harvard University during HNMUN, the team was adjudged one of the top 20 delegations in the world.
    b) Founder of debating society and cheif organizer for multiple fests and events.
    c) Founding member of the ACM student chapter in college.

I want to apply to multiple universities during Spring '15 and Fall '15 (If I dont get an admit in Spring), so please suggest universities I should apply to considering my profile.

The primary problems with my profile right now, I believe, is the academic percentage. Further, some universities, such as GaTECH, require me to declare my specialization before I enter. I would prefer a university which allows me a breadth of study in multivariate specializations than to be boggled down with one.

For the particular reason above, I'm specifically looking at the 1 year M.Engg. program, particularly from Cornell University. Do I have a chance for that? Further, is there any marked difference between M.Engg. and M.S. (except from the future P.Hd standpoint?)
