Hi All,
My full name is Andavarapu Sravan Kumar.
But due to some reason, my birth certificate has "A Sravan Kumar" and that got affected in 10th class certificate, 12th class certificate, btech degree certificate, driving license.
And my passport has the complete full name which is "Andavarapu Sravan kumar".
So, there is a surname change in passport and other certificates.
I am planning to pursue my MS in US for fall 2014. So, naturally i applied gre and toefl using name in passport. But, which name do I use for university application? If I use the one in passport, then there will be mismatch in names present in btech college transcripts and gre/toefl score cards.
Kindly tell me if this surname change would cause any issue and what should I do to rectify it.

It will cause issues in admission process.
Correct the last name on Passport to 'A'. Contact the local passport office for the procedure to do so.'
Or on all your certificates your last name should reflect Andavarapu, which is a tougher process.
IF passport officials are fine with changing the last name to A it would be the easier path than the second one i suggested.

My name on passport is Rohan Dongre(surname) and on first year and on last year mark sheet is Rohan Sanjay Dongare(surname) and on 2nd & 3rd year mark sheet is as per the passport is Rohan Sanjay Dongre(surname). I already given the GRE in 3 sep 13.
Will it cause any problem in admission process.
