Question Integrated MS+Phd in Signal Speech Processing. 60% agg. Require Scholarship Info

    Greetings,

I'm a Telecom engg student with 60% aggregate. Have 2 years of IT experience.

I'm also working under a prof in India on Signal Processing Research. (I might me publishing a paper)

I would like to know as to, how likely will i get a max scholarship for Integrated MS+Phd program in Fall 2014?

What is the required GRE score? Is TOEFL and IELTS required?

Kindly suggest a list of universities which are most likely to accept this profile.

    Thank you.

no one can or should suggest universities for someone else.. u make ur own list of university, then furnish ur whole profile along with that and seniors will tell u ur chances in those unis..
for ur another question, ur grade is on the lower side.. so u will have to do quite good in gre and toefl if u want PhD admit..getting an MS admit from good college is tough, getting a PhD is a even tougher.. but yes, still, u have great chance in getting into 80+ ranked unis for PhD..get around 310 in gre and 100+ in toefl and u will be all set.. toefl is preferred by most of the US universities, whereas IELTS is preferred by German and Canadian unis.. best to take toefl..but yes,us unis accept ielts in case u havent taken toefl.. but they will always prefer toefl (USA)..

Hey, so lets agree to your point. I need to aim at 310 in gre and 100+ in toefl. I will narrow down my univ list..

So, after i publish an international paper (happening very soon) and with a little more marks of GRE + TOEFL score, what are the scholarship options.

Is it true that, MS+Phd program has a fee wavier in US.?

How does Universities see work experience as?

And, lastly, what is the minimum bank balance i need to keep in India before applying?

    Thank you

Is it true that, MS+Phd program has a fee wavier in US.? yes

How does Universities see work experience as? depends on the type of workex..if relevant then that will be a + for ur profile if not then it wont help much

And, lastly, what is the minimum bank balance i need to keep in India before applying? before applying?just as much require to apply + send packets to unis..but if i am not wrong then u r talking about I-20 amount.search for it.u will need at least the full 1year tuition+living expense(uni will provide u that list) amount of liquid cash present in ur bank and u will have to furnish the proof to uni before they issue u ur I-20.same is required before VI

    Thank you
i hope u got all ur answers

Hey, So just to be clear,

Assuming that universities give a 100% scholarship grant before joining date, is it mandatory to keep bank balance of full 1st year fees during Visa Interview?

    How many years is MS+Phd? is it 6 yrs(2+4) or 5 yrs(2+3)?

As per your above reply, you mentioned that people with much lower profiles also got into MS+Phd program with full grant. So, my question is: apart from average GPA, decent GRE and TOEFL scores, have they submitted anything else to strengthen their profile?

    Thank you.

if u get full funding then all u will have to show the VO that u have enough finance to survive on ur own for 1yr(at least),best is u show as much liquid cash u can or atleast the I-20 amount ( without any funding)
How many years is MS+Phd? is it 6 yrs(2+4) or 5 yrs(2+3)? sorry but i dont have any idea about that,2yrs is minimum for ur MS,rest will depend on ur speed and ur PhD adviser

So, my question is: apart from average GPA, descent GRE and TOEFL scores, have they submitted anything else to strengthen their profile? i am not sure.but 1+yrs workex will surely do good(relevant or not) i know two seniors of mine doing PhD in Texas Tech(lubbock) with full funding..they got those admits while they didnt get any from 40+ ranked unis for even MS..now do ur maths.

    Thank you.

gre score alone doesn't matter much... they take everything into consideration...say, u get 340 in gre i.e full in both quant and verb (lets surmise) u still wont get into MIT,Stanford or any uni ranking inside 10 if u dont have supporting gpa.. got my point??? i hope that answers...

When is the scholarship deadline for MS in Electrical Engineering for FALL - 2014?

Is it Oct 15th or Dec 15th?

Also if i send all my documents by Oct 15th except TOEFL (which i will send in Dec), will i be considered?

Kindly revert back at the earliest.

    Thank you
