Smile Need urgent help regarding admissions to univ in US from scratch. Please help out.

    Hi

I am a total newbie for pursuing MS. This has been my dream to study in US. It started with two alike minds to go for such a big step. Me and my friend are pursuing this dream to do MS in Photography and Media & Comm.

A little introduction about us. We are engineers from different backgrounds, one being an electrical engineer and other being an IT engineer. What we wish to gain from this site is that some generous people provide us with a guideline and be our mentor to whole process and help us reach our goal.

Our knowledge about this process might be scant but our will is strong.

Please help us with this process. We will be really grateful.
    Thanking you in advance.

    Hello ,

    1. Prepare for your GRE and TOEFL So well and score around 315+ in GRE and 100+ in TOEFL so that you can get very good universities
Also this range of scores helps to get scholarships also there will be no problem with VISA
    2. Once you are done with GRE and TOEFL based on scores , your area of interest , speaclization , research work in that fieldlocation , cost , funding , job options choose university
    While choosing university :
Apply for two dream universities , 2 or 3 Reach universities , 1or2 safe universities
If you get dream university (Just go with it)
    3. Once u decide your universities start preparing SOP (Statement of purpose) ,LOR (Letter of Recommenadtion)
    4. Apply for universities as soon as possible
    5. Get prepared with all financial documents
    6. Once you get admits/reject decide in what university you want to study among all your choices
    7. Then apply for VISA

Okay Thanks a lot Madhavi. It was quite a procedural description.
Now I am stuck between choices for MS. I am an engineer but I want to do an MFA or MA course related to acting or film line.
will that be a wiser option to exercise or should I step back to MS or MBA from US?

    Thanking you in advance.

    Invincible,
It all depends on your career goals. Always listen to your heart and discuss with your parents/close friends before taking the final decision. There might be some pre-requisites if you want to pursue MS in film/arts as your undergrad is in engineering. However, this will depend on the university you select.

BTW, If you have any work experience in the engineering field our kind suggestion is to stick to your own field.

If you have any further questions/need assistance during this whole process, reach out to us at *********@gmail.com

    Regards,
