Thread: Profile Evaluation - Dragged down by GPA

Hey guys,

I want to apply to Computational Sciences and Engineering courses in a few universities, and my profile is as follows:

GPA: 8.02/10 in CS, from RVCE, Bangalore (Autonomous under VTU)
GRE: 334 (169 Q; 165 V; 5 AWA)
TOEFL: 119

National Debating Champion, represented RVCE in Asian level competitions 4 times, reaching Semi Finals
Made computational software that is adopted by debating community.

No publications.

I am applying for the fall of 2014, and have a year to build my profile.

I'm particularly worried about my GPA and wonder how I can offset that in any way. Any suggestions whatsoever are very welcome.
