Please review my profile, rank universities above, especially the safe ones. I would also appreciate if I can get suggestions on where to apply. Frankly the GRE score has frozen my thought process.

@swapnilk : Thanks for the response. Actually this is already my second attempt at the GRE. The first score being 302(158Q/144V). I don't think I can do better taking it one more time. What would be your overall evaluation of the current profile? Any chances of getting into A-, B+ universities?

    Hi,
Read the article. I have done considerable social work and can get certificates for that. As for sports/cultural, can be arranged. Can someone please review the profile and let me know of chances of getting into the listed universities/suggest new ones.

    Hi Nachie,

You have very good profile. But keep in mind that the kind of universities you are apping for, are also too good.

If you can get recos from good profs(good--profs in adcoms know abt the fellow) and can prepare an excellent sop stating how you fit the program, can greatly tip the scale in your favor and make up for any shortcomings in the application

    1. Georgia Tech(Computer Science) (low gre -- in doubt)
    2. U Wisconsin (Computer Science) ( ambi )
    3. U Mich Ann Arbor(Computer Science) ( ambi )
    4. UIUC(Computer Science) (ambi)
    5. UCLA (Computer Science) (ambi)
    7 U Minnesota Twin Cities(CS)
    8 USC (Comp Science) (safe)
    9 U Maryland College Park
10 Purdue University Lafayette (have a good shot--good gpa)
11 North Carolina State (NCSU) (Computer Networks) (moderate)

This is just my opinion. Depends on the course you apply for.

    All the best.

    Cheers,
    Gokul
