    Unhappy GRE Score 297 | B.Tech(IT) 69% | 3.2 Years of Work Experience

    Hello All,

I got my final scores for the GRE i took on 6th september :-
    Verbal - 150 Quantitative - 147 and AWA :- 3.0

I have a B.tech in Information Technology from UPTU Lucknow and 69.4 as my aggregate.

I wish to get admission in MIS / MS [Software Engineering] around the West Coast area only.

Please guide me. I know the score is quite low and I would only be accepted in Tier 3 universities.

Should I give GRE again or apply with this score itself ?

I had selected the following 4 universities for sending the scores after the exam :-

    1. San Jose State University for MS CS[Software Engineering ]
    2. UTD for MIS
    3. Arizona State University for MIS
    4. San Diego State University for MS CS

    Please help.

These universities are ok for your profile. However, if you retake GRE, it would probably help you a lot in getting an admit.

I feel so too but the dates are not available before decemeber now and I do not wish to apply too late to have problems for getting housing and stuff. I am sure I would not get any scholarship with such a low score though.
