Deferral of admittion

My name is Ifeduba Ifeanyi from Nigeria. I got admit for PhD in Physics at Howard University, Fall 2012.
I Was supposed to start registeration on August 13th but my Letter of Provisional offer came in on the first week of August, so I wasnt able to book visa appointment and other necessary procedures.
I have written to the school requesting my Admission be diferred till Spring 2013.
Please can anyone advice on what further help/information/link to follow.

Remember to contact your PhD advisor (if any) as early as possible. It is vital that he/she has no problems with you joining later than expected. If he/she is fine, then most probably the department and the school won't have any problem either.

I did recieve a mail from the admit department with favourable response.
