Hi,
I wish to apply for an MS in Mechanical Engineering
1.Automotive Design, Transmission System Design, Advanced Power-train Design or,
2.Aerospace;
degree in USA
I have the following profile
GRE 1200; Q - 720, V - 480; Equivalent score of 308(Q-156,V-152) AWA - 3.5
TOEFL - 102 (R-22;L-27;S-26;W-27)
Pune University B.E in Mechanical Engineering with 53.4% till 3rd year and 61.33% in Final year.
I have a year back during my 2nd to 3rd year
I had worked at a workshop for 1 year during my year back.
I have had 10 backlogs in total during my engineering
Did a Project on Engine Testing in Force Motors during Final year
12th 2nd PUC karnataka with 61.16%
10th ICSE with 81.6%
I have shortlisted the following universities:
Please tell me if they are right for me and/or if I should change/replace any...
1. Michigan Technological University
2. University of Missouri at Kansas City
3. State University of New York - Binghamton
4. Old Dominion university
5. University of Louisiana Lafayette

You can apply to schools in Texas. Because job prospects are good for core enginers in Texas. The cities such as Houston, Austin and Dallas are really full of jobs. SO you should look for schools in Texas. Good schools such as UTD and UTa have good programs in mechanical engineering. yOu can also have a look at UT Tyler. It is a small school but because of its proximity to Dallas has very good prospects. Moreover it offers scholarships and Jobs to almost every student. There are some other good schools in Texas also. I keep on saying texas because it is really good for core engineering branches because of the plethora of core engineering companies particularly in Houston area. Even for the IT engineers it is good because of Dallas.
