Thread: how long we can stay in us without a job on student visa after masters.

dear all,

I would like to pursue ms in us.But before that I would like to know what happens in the worst case scenario. I am planning to go there on a student visa. If after 2 years of ms study, I complete the course and get no job, how long can I stay in US searching for a job?I read somewhere like we have to come back after 3 months after the masters course if we dont get a job. Somewhere I found out that we can stay there for 5 years on student visa even if we dont get a job. Kindly share here what is the correct way?

u have to get a job with in 3 months of completing MS. You can approach IT consultancies over here, to get a job. Just voluntary work in ur field for an employer can put you into status after MS.
Don't worry about this.
You can't stay for 5 yrs if you are out of school.
