profile evaluation and universities suggestion for SPRING 2013

    Hi Everyone,

    Below is my situation:

visa rejected thrice for FALL 2012 for University of North Carolina charlotte. Is it advisable to visa interview for nxt term with a change in univ.

i've applied to university of massachusetts lowell, university of north carolina charlotte, southern illinois uiversity, NJIT, cleveland state university.

I'm looking to apply for SPRING 2013 again to 2-3 universities which are above my profile.

    MY profile:

    GRE- 165-quant, 142-verbal , AWA- 3.0
    TOEFL - 97 which 21+ in each
    Graduation- 75% (B.E. in EEE)
    12th - 94%
    10th - 83%
    Graduation year 2010
    Working in MNC since 2yrs

Looking forward to doing Masters in ELectrical engg(power systems as core course) ormasters in power systems engg with a mix of renewable energy would be good.

University of north carolina charlotte is very good but is very expensive at aroun 20500$ per year

Plz help in suggesting universities with moderate fees and good course

I'm looking at texas arlington ..... what are my chances???

    Plz suggest some other universities....

Thanks in advance for ur time....

Sincer this is ur original post, its better to reply here...

have u thought abt why ur VISA was rejected? even if u change the Univ, the issue may stilll exist...try some introspection to see wat went wrong...ur profiloe is fine though.

Washington state univ is very good for power systems....and the fees u put up is the tuition??

Well Arlington is cheaper overall....funding depends on many factors. Lotta Indians apply to Arlington, so competition for aid will be high....and 20k is just a little over the average tuition fees

Funding for Spring is very difficult. Plus to get funding in even average universities you need a kinda high GRE score.

Your visa has been rejected thrice, you need to think about it with a clear mind. I suggest you simultaneously apply for Canada as well. Because if your visa to US is rejected again, it would be one year you'll never get back again.

Keep US your priority, but there needs to be a backup plan.

All I know is that UK is not the place to be right now.

Going to Canada is very easy. But m not looking into that so I don't know much about the universities.

For power system, Univ of Colorado and ASU are good. Don't know if they offer it at Arlington or not.

UNCC is decent, but there might not be many job opportunities in Charlotte I am told. I was initially going to apply there, m searching for univs, if I don't find a decent one, then I'll apply to UNCC. Charlotte is a great city anyway.
