ur looking at electronics and communication engineering (ECE in India), or asking abt Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE or EE in USA)?

Anyway, IN the US u only have Electrical and computer engineering dept. Electronics courses are a part of it. Like if ur interested in embedded or vlsi or optics or microwave circuits, its all in the elecrical engineering dept.

EVERY university tht has engineering has this dept as for top 100, check out this amazing tool i found out - try a goodle search and look up multiple options cuz each list will differ....just tht the univ order will change, but almost all the top unis will be presenbt.

Some list will put the order as Stanford, MIT, Harvard, Cal tech...come will put it as Stanford, CAL TEch, Ann Arbor etc...but the bottomline is tht u can take top 10 as almost as par. then next 10 as at par then next 10 and so on.

The question did deserve a little sarcasm from your side, but thank you for replying
I've been researching, but I was finding it difficult to narrow down my work. So,i decided to seek a systematic approach and document everything, courtesy the experts and freshers here.
    I'm interested in embedded systems.
    My profile is (till date)
    GRE: 315/340
    Q:163;V:152
    TOEFL: due 26 August.
HSC: 94.5% (Second in state in Electronics-vocational Subject)
B.E.(6 semesters): Aggregate 70% (Branch: Electronics and Telecommunication), Mumbai University.
Experience : One month Internship in Western Railways (ISO 14001), during which the following projects were simulated.
    SCADA system.
    Passenger announcement system.
    Anti-collision device.
Secretary of Institute of Electronics and Telecom Engineers (College committee)
    No technical papers written yet.

Can I have a review here
If i am not asking for too much, could you help me find the right universities
    Thank you,in advance

My apologies! I was quite serious there. No sarcasm! :-) I too had the ece confusion...and as for google search, I initially dint think it-d help much. But it sure did!

As for ur profile, its pretty good...u can stand good chances at above average unis...try looking up lists and come up with ur own one....post it here and we can try trimming it :-) all the best! And my apologies again for the implied scabsm

Very Ambitious: (both may be out of reach)
    1.Cornell
    2.Wisconsin.

    3.Ohio State - moderate maybe
    4.Penn State - ambitious
    5.Colorado,Boulder - gettable
    6.Minnesota - quite ambitious
    7.North Carolina - ambitious
8.Arizona - if its Arizona state, then maybe decent chances. if its U arizona they tend to be erratic

    Back-ups: (seriously? :-p)
9.Boston - its gettable but VERY expensive to live in
    10.Iowa - iowa state? - moderate.

I suggest u try U penn, UCSD, Brown university, SUNY SB, Case western, Northwestern for ambitious....for safe unis u can look at UIC, UTD, U Pitts, NEU, UNCC etc.....
