    Fall 2013 | MS - VLSI | GRE - 306 (Q:155 V:151) | TOEFL : 115 | CGPA: 8.2

    Hello,
    I am gonna apply for MS in VLSI in Fall 2013 for meng (thesis option).

    My profile is as follows :
    GRE - 306 (Q:155 V:151 AWA : 4)
    First attempt - GRE score - 315 (Q : 160 V: 155 AWA: 3.5)

    TOEFL - 115 ( R:29 L:30 S:28 W:28 )
    Undergrad College: Amrita School of Engineering,Bangalore
    Course : Electronics and Communication
    CGPA : 8.2 / 10

    Major proj : 2D DCT using CORDIC Processor - basically a DSP and VLSI proj.

    Papers : No papers

    Work ex: Will have 12 months worth of work experience at CTS

    The colleges I plan on applying to are :
    1)UMich Ann Arbor
    2) UCSB
    3) UMNTC
    4) USC
    5) GaTech
    6) RIT
    7) ASU
    8) UTD
    9) UT Austin
    10) Purdue

    2) UCSB - moderate chances
    3) UMNTC - mod, but gettable
    4) USC - within reach
    5) GaTech - tough
    6) RIT - safe
    7) ASU - safe
    8) UTD - safe
    9) UT Austin - very ambitious
    10) Purdue - tough

    Are there any other universities that are good for vlsi and are safe according to my profile?

    Oregon state, u Massachusetts Amherst are very good. But a little selective. U stand a chance though.

    Very safe. Arlington is kinda low for ur profile
