UTD - very very safe (and maybe a little low for ur profile)

Va Tech - may be a little ambitious, but gettable
    Ga Tech - same
    RIT(Rochester) - safe again
    UMNTC - moderate
NCSU(North Carolina State Univ) - ambitious, But i suggest u defifnitely try

Can u tell me about some more univs that are within my reach with this profile.I am more interested towards applying in VLSI program, but many ppl told me dat my profile leans towards embedded systems bcoz of all dat microcontrollers stuff,so will it be better to apply in embedded systems and den to switch to VLSI once I get an admit

If suppose I apply to VLSI programs in univs such as ASU(Arizona State),UMNTC(University of Minnesota Twin Cities) and USC(University of Southern California),Will my chances of getting an admit get minimized?

maybe slightly yes....cuz these ate conpetitive unis. So u shouldn appear to be out of reach or inexperienced....the thing is, just apply and get int. u can chancge ur grp once ur there.

Just refer to ur evaluation above :-) asu would be gettable....the others a little ambitious, but u could try....try to include just a couple of moderate unis too. Just as back up...like Iowa state, Ohio state, ufl, Rutgers etc
