I started preparing for GRE, Currently I'm working in a MNC and I started blindly Mugging up GRE words from Barron's. But, I'm going very slow (I think from last 3 days I just managed up to 35 words). Is it the way to do so. What is the best book for quants preparation ? as of now I'm just holding with Barrons.....Please reply back...AQAP.

@Rohit: If you win, you can lead. If you loose you can guide. I am 2nd type so I can guide you
I scored 302 I am feeling like looser
These are the books worth reffering, if you go through all these properly you can get the score you would like:
1> Word power made easy (This is the only best book which will help you improve your vocabulary)
2> Official ETS GRE book its always better to refer this
    3> Barron's GRE book
4> For analytical writing analysis List of essay topics in ETS site for both Issue and Argument (you will get one of these topics during exam) There are more than 100 essay topics for each type better to go through all the topics.
Get all these, plan properly, take your time, never take hasty decision to take exam, take exam only when you are fully prepared I mean even if application deadlines for univ's are getting over dont take exam if you are not prepared well. This is my honest suggestion now its up to you to follow it. Please feel free to ask if you still have any queries I would love to help others.

@gvc and rohit: Dont forget to take numerous practice tests before exam. I didnt do this but all the people who scored well has done the same. One more advice please choose the univ's you want to get in before giving the exam and see their minimum requirements. I think my profile may give you guys a good idea to select univ, as I already applied for spring 2013 got few rejections and few admits too, here is my profile:

    GRE - 302, Q-158, V-144, AWA -3
    TOEFL -89
    BE - 66%
Work exp : 2 years in Cognizant Technology solutions
Presentation: 1 IEEE paper presented on Home Automation

1> univ of Kansas - reject (told me to retake TOEFL and apply for fall again as thier min req was 100)
2> Syracuse reject - reject (no reason told me to apply again for fall)
3> Illinois ins of tech - reject (told me to retake gre)
4> San jose state univ - Admit
5> NYU Poly - (reject for electrical and told me to apply for telecommunication networks, I may get admit for telecom, still waiting for result)

Hope the above thing will give you fair idea, rejections may also be due to spring factor and late applications. All the best guys!!!!
