    94.33%(12th PCME)
    89%(10th Karnataka State Board)
    BE branch: Electronics and Communication
    College: University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering - Bangalore University
    MS field: Electrical Engineering (Communication and Signal Processing)
    GRE Scores: 309 Q:161 V:148 AWA: 4
    TOEFL Scores: 106 R:28, L:29, S:22, W:27

    Involved in Research right from 3rd sem in the field of image processing which is a branch of signal processing.
    * Paper in Automated Segmentation of Invariant Satellite Images.
    * Project in ISRO on Remote Sensing
    * Designed and Implemented a Virtual Stock Market using HTML, CSS and PHP
    * Serving as Placement Coordinator in college, thus getting exposure to the Industry

    I looked into several university websites and went through ****** threads and made this list, please evaluate these universities and suggest any additions to the list:

    Stevens Institute of Technology (saw in threads)

    Rutgers - New Brunswick
    Texas A&M University - College station
    and Kingsville

    Will be grateful for evaluation of profile.

    tamu-college station is Tier 1 university and tamu-kingsville is a tier 5 university.why do you want to go for tamu-kinsville with such a good profile?

    My frens suggested TAMU kingsville.. so wrote it down simply.. didn see their website...

    Arizona State University - moderate chances

    University of Texas at Dallas - decent chances

    SUNY Buffalo - modertae

    University of Southern California - may be a little tough

    University of Cincinnati - good chances

    University of Central Florida - safe

    University of Massachusetts - Amherst - moderate

    University of Wisconsin - Madison - EXTREMELY AMBITIOUS

    Stevens Institute of Technology (saw in threads) - decent

    University of Maryland - College park - EXTREMELY AMBITIOUS

    Rutgers - New Brunswick - may be little outta reach

    Texas A&M University - College station - EXTREMELY AMBITIOUS

    and Kingsville - well within reach but too low for ur profile...


    try unis like iowa state, UIC, U pitts, WSU, RIT, U Oklahoma etc

    I checked out RIT and its good for DSP. Are the other universities mentioned by u good for DSP?? and what are my chances in them??

    You have moderate chances in all....and I'm not sure about how good they are for dsp...

    One more ques, how are the post-MS career opportunities?? Like, i shudn do MS in some univ and sit in home.

    A little tough indeed...or so I've heard from some ppl there....jobs are there, but overseas ppl are given second preference....BUT if u manage good grades, ur definitely in contention.
