Thread: PhD after/along with MS

Hi All,

I want to know the basic details regarding PhD in US. As of now I applied for my MS but I am looking forward for PhD too.

1. What is average duration for PhD course both after and along with MS(Full time and Part time)
2. After getting admit into an University, what will be the procedure to continue with PhD in the same university.

It depends on u, according to my knowledge Phd & MS both may need 5-7 yrs.
After getting an admit, u need to impress ur profs with GPA & reseach work. U can speak to them regarding ur idea of phd when ur in 2nd yr of MS. If they are ready accept u as their student, then there's an exam( just for formality) u need to clear.
