Actually they are all within reach. the last 3 are pretty good. I'd sugegst u include them and also look at UIC, ASU, U cincinatti, U florida, oregon state, U pitts. these should all be gettable.

A little moderate to ambitious ones may be - u arizona, U iowa, Suny SB etc. Do check up for more colls online

I did suggest a few. For a more rough idea, you can use the profile evaluation section of this website....also funding generally is tough in first semester at top colls, but u can surely get funding by 2nd semester.

I understand ur confusion, even i suggest u to shortlist some better unis. Regarding funding, its really hard to get these days atleast for a MS students ( impossible in 1st sem). Even i know some phds without funding. So, don select an uni solely on funding. About job prospets, its all depends upon u-how u network with ur seniors, maintaing a decent gpa, good relations with ur profs...etc. Not to demoralise u, job prospects are becoming low for an international student these days.
check these if they ve spring intake, but these suits ur profile..
-UTD( good in vlsi, has a locational advantage)
    -ASU( overall good in EE)
-NCSU( same as above, this year they were choosy)
-Ohio state( good in EE, reputation)
-USC( decent uni, job prospects better)
-UMINN TC( highly reputed for EE)
-gatech(gettable, though it has good reputation)

My cousin is in US and has suggested following list

Purdue univ-West laffayate (just to try my luck)
    Michigan state university
    NCSU-Raleigh
    Iowa sate univ
    Univ of Illinois Chicago(UIC)
    North Dakota sate univ(NDSU)(really safe)
what do u think about the list and is it good enough or should I add some more schools which are safe...

Yes its high. But Michigan state is a good uni. Better than Michigan tech...Suny buffalo is fine. Good option.
