Recommendation letter from former HOD

Hi, I have completed my graduation in 2011 and I am going to apply for masters. HOD of my department is now changed and the former HOD is now working somewhere else in a new organization. So will it be okay if he writes recommendation letter for me or should I ask to new HOD to write it, since the former HOD will be having letter head of new organization. Please help me out about this.

I am not sure but I think you can buy the letter heads from your college ---> go to your old HOD ----> ask him to sign.

You may have to make a new stamp of his name by yourselves.
