Opt period for MIS

Hi

i have a masters in computer science and i would like to apply for MIS spring 2014.
but i am not sure about the OPT period for this course.

Can anyone clarify about this? In this community ajay cherukuri has posted some time back that MIS has only 11- 17 months of opt period but i have read somewhere that MIS has also been added to the STEM programs and is now eligible for 29 months OPT aswell. Does anyone know for sure about the OPT period and will that be a problem in getting H1 visa if it is only for 11 months.

It depends on the university you are applying. Check with the International Student OFfice of the university you are applying.
some univs are giving 29 months OPT these days and some are getting 12 months OPT.

i have sent mails to few of the universities. Do you know any such universities where the MIS program is recognised as a STEM degree and which offers a 29 month OPT period??
