    Kentucky - safe
SUNY SB and Buffalo - moderate (mainly cuz of the competition in terms of applicants u may face)
    Cincinati - safe/mod
U arizona may be a little tough
    Texas is safe

U could look at Universitites in North Carolina. NCSU is very very good for embedded. But ambitious for u. u could still try though.

Also look into UNCC chapel hill and chalotte

I am planning to apply five universities.

Univ of North Texas - safe
    Univ of Kentucky - mod
    Suny Buffalo - mod
North carolina state univ - Ambi

Can you help me in deciding 5th university, the few options I have are
    University of arizona
    Univ of Texas Dallas
    louisiana state university

Akshay and Rohit can help in deciding one from above options or any other univ which have good research opputunities in Embededd systems.

And is it good Idea to apply for NCSU when the chances are very low.

    Thanks
    Nireesha Y.

In my view i guess LSU is a good option for u because LSU is the top most univ in its state and it is ranked in 93 position and it is placed in a very good city baton rouge. the main disadvantage for this univ is its tuition fee. it will cost u around $23100 per annum. coming to the research u have a very good research opportunities. Even I to got an admit into LSU to FALL12 into EE dept and also in UNT. It is upto u to decide, if u have enough funds then just go to LSU and cmg to arizona and texas they are bit low compared to LSU.
One more suggestion is if u have less funds then just blindly go to UNT bcause it is one of the most upcoming univ in texas and also u have wide opportunities for jobs. I guess we can even pay the total fee through the internships, RA and TA's available over there. Coming to the tuition fee of UNT it will cost u not more than 7 lakhs per annum. sooo....its upto u nireesha.....by the way where r u frm????
