Currently oil industry in USA is crashed. I would recommend joining after an year or so. Some people are predicting that the industry will be good in another 3 years. Few more predict it will be 15 years. (Like what happened in 1985). I heard only 4 or 5 students got jobs (both UG and Masters). But in general UTulsa is a great school to study petroleum Engg. Professors teach most advanced theories. Some wont be found in the text books, coz they are very new findings. Coursework is tough as well. If the oil industry is good and you maintain good GPA, you can easily get job. UTulsa is well recognised and highly respected in the industry (any oil company will know how good UTulsa program is).
