H1b 2012 Quota - How many H1B visas are left this year ?

On apr 1st 2011, USCIS has started receiving the applications for work permit (H1b) petitions. It will receive 65,000 applications for the work permits in the General quota and 20,000 cap is dedicatied who have atleast Masters degree in USA. USCIS has received approximately 5,900 H-1B petitions counting toward the 65,000 cap, and approximately 4,500 petitions toward the 20,000 cap exemption for individuals with advanced degrees. U.S. businesses use the H-1B program to employ foreign workers in specialty occupations that require theoretical or technical expertise. Such workers include scientists, engineers and computer programmers, among others. We keep updating the counts as soon as USCIS release them. These counts will help you to know how many aplications received and how fast the cap is filling.
