Question:
i had applied for MS in MECHANICAL ENGG. FALL 2012 to the following universities:
1) UTA
2) UNIVERSITY OF BUFFALO
3) UNIVERSITY OF HOUSTON
4) OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY
5) OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY
6) CLEMSON
7) ILLINOIS INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY
8) MICHIGAN TECH
9) SUNY STONY BROOK.
from above i got replies from first 7 universities with just one admit i.e. UTA and all others reject. replies from michigan tech and stony brook are still awaited.
my profile is like this:
an avg of 58% till T.E from pune university. now in my last year.
a single backlog in S.E.
GRE: 1290 (QUANT:780, VERB:510); AWA:3
TOEFL: 103
Now having 6 reject from 7 i am tensed for the visa. will so many rejects affect my visa interview? should i apply to more university having low ranks from where admits are 100% sure just for the sake of having admits in hand. also, is it a wise decision to go further? i am very confused.
please help me and respond asap. i need to make quick decision if i have to apply to more universities cos many will be having their deadlines now.
regards,
vidula pawar.

F1 Visa success doesn't depend on number of university admits and rejects or the number of universities applied. You just need admission from one University to attend the visa interview and to get visa.
Your low GPA might have given many rejections. Visa officer likes your interest in applying to well ranked universities though your GPA is low. You tried to apply/study in reputed colleges. That is Enough to impress visa officer.
