    Recently you might have heard of Pathway programs or the Bridge programs in USA. Your admission consultant might have suggested you to join a Pathway program for admission into US University Graduate program or undergraduate program. Let us take a look into Pathway programs.

    What is Pathway program?

    Parthway programs are designed for students who don't meet minimum requirements of schools. Usually, if you don't have enough GRE, TOEFL, IELTS or Academics university should reject your admission application. But you are allowed to join the university via Pathway program. Pathway is like a bridge program which fills the gap between your skills set and university requirements.

    With pathway program you may be asked to do English courses or some prerequisite courses in the first semester or for total first year. It means you are wasting minimum of one semester just to learn English or something which is useless to you. You may end up studying non-degree courses upto 1 year.

    Why consultancies suggest pathway programs

    Pathway programs will get more commission to consultancies. They will get around 1000 - 5000 US Dollars on each student. Amount varies by university and agency paying commission.

    How pathway programs in USA hurt your career?

    You will waste your time and money upto 10 lacks. You will be admitted into Graduate or Undergraduate program only after completion of pathway programs and making good graded in the pathway courses.

    Those who are not capable of getting good score in IELTS, GRE, TOEFL may not get good grades in Pathway programs. I have seen students spending multiple semesters in Pathway prgroam without even starting masters program. Pathway almost screw up your career.

    University of South Florida
    Colorado State University

    Agency called Navitas is offering pathway programs into following US schools.

    Navitas at UMass Dartmouth
    Navitas at UMass Lowell
    Navitas at UMass Boston
    Navitas at WKU
    Navitas at UNH

      Thank u so very much, i was in dilemma wat to do. my consultancy suggested navitas only. almost i was abt to join there. thank u thank u thank u,,

      Also i need few universities for you to suggest me please so that i can apply on my own for this fall.

      Nonsense article... First you should know what is Pathway in detail and then post a meaningful article. If someone is enrolled in a pathway program, he/she has to undergo few additional courses along with core subjects. There is no such thing called waste of time and money... Pathway programs are can be for 1 semester or for 3 semester based on your profile. If it is for one sem, your next semester will be in normal classes. Pathway programs costs around 1-3 lakhs more than normal semester fees...

      Its not 1 -3 lakhs ?? its $19600 for this so called program at Colorado state. Get your info right.

      Its called Ripping of students and a waste of time.
