    Green cards are getting easier !!!! Lot of Indians awaiting for green card from long time got it recently.... Now its turn to OPT, H1B/F1 Spouses.

    Graduate Students in USA get 12 months OPT work authorization and students from STEM major and they can extend it for 17 more months, making it to total of 29 months.

    DHS (Department of Homeland Security) today announced its proposal to expand eligibility for OPT extension. DHS proposal will expand Optional practical training eligibility to the students with prior degree in STEM.

    So, if you have Dual masters degree(MS in US) and if the second degree is not related to STEM, still you can get OPT extension for 17 months.

    DHS It had not mentioned whether the 'Prior Degree' can be a US Degree or any other international degree at Bachelors level.

    DHL is also planning to include more majors to STEM.
