• Why to take IELTS? IELTS Test Pattern

    IELTS exam was formed to help the universities to evaluate the English language skills of the applicants. Now a day’s most of the US Universities are accepting IELTS score as an alternative to TOEFL test.

    IELTS exam will have two formats 1) Academic 2) General.

    Applicants to US universities need to take Academic IELTS test. You have to mention this when you are registering for the test.

    IELTS Test Format

    There are four section/modules in the Academic IELTS Test. Total Test Time: 2hr 45min (Depending upon test center speaking test may take place up to 7 days before or after the test date)

    Section/Module Section/Questions Duration
    Listening 4 Section / 40 Questions 30 minutes
    Academic Reading 3 Section / 40 Questions 60 minutes
    Academic Writing 2 Tasks(150-250 words) 60 minutes
    speaking 11 – 14 minutes


    Order of the Test Modules in the real test: Listening comes first, then Academic Reading, Academic Writing,
