    What is H1B Cap?

    The number of H1B Visas issues in a Year is called H1B Cap. Regular H1B visa cap has 65,000 visas available in a year. Master and Higher degree students from US University will have special cap of 20,000. Together there are 85,000 H1B Visas available though Cap.

    H1B Visa Cap count

    Number of applications received till date is Cap Count. USCIS starts receiving H1B applications from April first of every year. Suppose if 30,000 applications received by April 10th, Cap count on that date is 30,000. Regular Cap count increases as the applications are received and ends at 65,000. Masters cap end at 20,000 once it reaches maximum cap count of 20,000.

    H1B Cap Updates

    H1B Cap updated will be released by USCIS once or twice a week. There are no specific schedules when the cap count will be release. You can check USCIS website for the cap count updates.
