... read moreAfter your F1 visa Interview, if visa officer feels you are temporarily ineligible for visa they would give you a White or Yellow 221g Handout/Slip with additional instructions. 221g DOES’T mean that your visa is denied. You just need to submit additional documents for the administrative processing. Consulate officer can’t start processing your case until you submit documents listed on the 221g handout.
Document or Passport Submission
221g Yellow Slip:
If you get a 221g Yellow slip you need to submit documents and/or passport at the nearest VFS center. For the list of VFS centers go to www.vfs-usa.co.in and click on US Visa Application Center.
If you received a yellow letter, you do not need to return to the Consulate in person.
Check your case status online at http://mumbai.usconsulate.gov/case-status.html
221g White Slip:
You have to go to the consulate again on any business day at 9.30 a with the 221g slip and documents/passport for further processing.
