• Impact of upcoming H1B Rules on Masters in Students in USA

I have received several emails this week on h1b bills that were introduced to curb the visas. I Would like to make it clear on what those rules are and what they are intended for.

New Rules or Bills on H1B visa

There are few bills introduced after trump's inaguration as president. Few of them look for
    1) 130k salary on H1B
    2) No more masters quota. H1B only for highest paid.
    3) No more new H1Bs for H1B dependent employers(employers with more than 50% of the employees.)
    4) Ban of H1B Visa program.

No More Masters Quota & H1B only for highly paid: Is it good or bad for you?

I am sure most of these bills will advance in house or senate. The only bill that has chances of passing is - "No more masters quota. H1B only for highest paid."
This will wipe out the 20,000 visas reservation luxury that masters student has from several years. But this is good for you. Masters and Phd student were excluded from the 'highly paid' condition.

A Masters student need not be highly paid to get H1B. You just need to get paid according to LCA requirement in your area.

This bill facilitates so that Masters students can acquire maximum number of H1B visas. Isn't it good for you??

This bill prioritized masters students in two categories. 1)with STEM Degree 2) With Non-STEM Degree. Students with STEM degree will be given higher priority over non-stem students.

Is trump supportive of International students?

During his election campaign trump repeatedly said that - US will continue welcoming 'Best and Bright' students. Join a well accredited school so that there wont be any worries.

The only way that trump may put you in trouble is that he could cancel the OPT Extension. As i said earlier going forward masters student may get h1b visa easily and in first attempt since the outsourcing companies
like TCS/CTS/WIPRO/INFOSYS will not be able to pay higher wages to their employees.

New Full-Time jobs will open for maters students in USA because of advantage you have over others to get h1b visa.

    Outsourcing companied like CTS/TCS

Trump want to stop or limit the outsourcing of the job. That is good for you since jobs will be located within USA.

No where in the Bill it was mentioned that Students and Opt and usages are exempted from the hike in salary 1,30,000. So on what basis are you saying so ?
