    How to answer for backlogs in Student Visa Interview? Student had 19 backlogs, but a clean answer got him F1 visa.

    IELTS: 7.0
    B.Tech CSE 59.2% 19 backlogs
    University of Illinois at Springfield.
    Status: approved
    VO: Come forward.
    ME: Hello sir, good morning.
    VO: Mornin' passport please.
    *I gave him my i20 along with my passport.*
    VO: I just need your passport sir, that's all I'm asking for.
    ME: Okay haha.
    VO: University of Illinois at Springfield huh?
    ME: Yes sir.
    VO: So how many backlogs did you have?
    ME: I had 19 backlogs in my UG.
    VO: You failed in so many subjects, if you go to the US, you can't even graduate. You'll drop out and start working in gas stations and come back.
    ME: Sir, to be completely open with you---*vo says "please, go ahead. That's what I want"* my academic profile is ugly. And with such a profile as this, I cannot hope to get a good job despite of the fact that Hyderabad has a good IT industry. And I am also aware of the fact that masters is one level above the UG. So I had taken a few measures to see that I can cope up with the subjects I'm gonna take in my masters.
    VO: what's that?
    ME: All the subjects I'm going to take in the university of Illinois at Springfield are based on Java. And I am an Oracle certified professional java programmer. I'm sure I can---
    VO: *he interrupts me* Okay, approved.
    ME: Thank you sir. It was a pleasure meeting you.

      Hi
      My name is Kumar,

      I am in a critical situation.
      I passed in 2010 Btech( EEE) and 4-1 Sem i failed in two subjects and in immediate attempt i have cleared those subjects. Now according to JNTU they gave us grace option like they will remove any of the two least scored subjects from the total Btech subjects. So they have removed other two least scored subjects and in CONSOLIDATED MEMO the removed subjects are marked with ( * ) mark.
      Now, in my profile Backlogs are counted or not??
      In VISA interview, shall i mention backlogs or shall i skip it???
      PLZZZZ help me out...........

      hello,some months ago i gave exam of 4th sem(2nd year) BE in computer & i want to go usa for ms .till now i have a 9 backlogs & i cleared 7 of them & now my result of 4th sem is very poor. i will not appear in 3rd year. if after this i have no backlogs in my last 2 year,can i eligible for visa interview?

      please please tell me about this,it's my request.

      According to the US consulate, a backlog means a subject for
      which you've written an exam more than once, before clearing
      it. To make it more clear, I'll give you an example. Suppose
      you had failed in your Graphics examination in the first year
      of engineering and you repeated your exam three times, even
      then you have only one backlog. That means, irrespective of
      how many ever times you repeat an individual subject, you end
      up calling it just one backlog. Hope that it helps
